Waeve: The Dye Shed
Waeve doesn't want to add to the chemical load of the planet. We know that acid dyes used in fashion production kill both people and the natural world. We also know there are alternatives. What we want to explore is not only how we start to open conversations about using natural dyes but how we get both the cloth industry and the consumer to embrace them. Starting a publicly accessible dye shed enables the exploration of what is possible in bringing natural dyes out to play.

Waeve: A Product Design Studio
Waeve recognises good products make good lives. For some demographics good products are essential to improve quality of life and for others a new idea can create aspiration, hope and excitement. We acknowledge there are better ways of doing and making things. Our design studio is the heart of the Waeve curiosity. Our design studio develops brilliant ideas that turn various elements of waste from our cloth production into a range of sustainable, potentially life changing and p

Waeve: Waste
At Waeve we are concious of not adding to the waste burden manufacturing anything currently has with any product. We have thought carefully how we can use the waste our production generates. One of the things we are committed to is being socially curious. We want to insure we can answer the questions we think are important autonmously through trial and error, particularly those that are more radical and may challenge the ethos of those more conservative in their approach and

Wool - A Modern Day Fibre of Folk.
Once known as the fibre of folk, wool clothed the nation and paid the rent. In the 1600s, it supported around 75% of England’s population. Now it's sidelined, buried under a mountain of fast fashion and polyester or burnt in fields by farmers who lose money on getting their sheep sheared. In the space of a few centuries, British wool went from the pride of the land to a punchline dismissed as "only good for carpets" by the Development Director of Mother of Pearl the brand beh

Waeve : Take the Long Way Round
Waeve Wear and Waeve Home are our in-house fashion and homeware brands. Born from the soil and sustained by generational shared knowledge, Waeve reclaims the value of British wool and native plant fibres by weaving them into cloth that is both carbon and water net neutral. We use heritage processes rooted in pre-industrial methods that are good for people and planet. We are building garments and homewares that move at the pace of the seasons. Each piece is a living argument
Waeve started with conversations. The kind of conversations that begin and end with "what if?" Our projects are ever evolving, finding new links where the learning from them can play a role in the bigger picture. They represent our determination to make change a real thing for everyone.
